Catch the Vibe: Kirk Franklin and GloRilla Reunite for "This Time"
Gospel icon Kirk Franklin is back with a fresh, spirit-led anthem, and he’s bringing Memphis rap powerhouse GloRilla along for the ride. Their new collaborative single, "This Time," is officially making waves across Gospel and Hip-Hop airwaves alike—and you can hear it right here on Gospel 106.3 WJNI.
Following their previous hit collaboration, Franklin and GloRilla prove once again that faith and culture move together. "This Time" sets a triumphant tone for Franklin’s upcoming 14th studio album, I Am What I Am, dropping October 30 via his new partnership with Uptown Records, Fo Yo Soul Entertainment, and TRIBL Music Group.
A Sample-Heavy, Spirit-Filled Banger
"This Time" delivers pure energy from the second the beat drops. Built around a boisterous horn section interpolating Mandrill’s classic "Children Of The Sun" alongside a nod to Shawty Lo's southern anthem "Dey Know," the track blends infectious handclaps with raw, testimony-driven lyrics.
GloRilla delivers a standout verse on overcoming struggle, walking in grace, and giving glory to God despite the noise. Kirk Franklin's signature high-energy production wraps around her verse, bridging the gap between traditional Sunday worship and Friday night drive-time.
"If a song like this can strengthen a young person's relationship with Christ, then I'm all for it." — Kirk Franklin
