Pastor Benji S. McMiller was born in Apopka, Florida to Elder Ben and Vera McMiller. He is the third oldest of six children. He received his formal education in the Orange County Public Schools System in Florida. Pastor McMiller earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Religion at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. Pastor McMiller is a former educator in the Orange County Public School System in Florida where he taught 4th Grade, 6th Grade Science, and 7th Grade Social Studies; former Assistant Pastor of Mt. Moriah Church, Apopka, Florida; and former Associate Minister, Music Director and Voice Instructor at the St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. In 1997, Pastor McMiller accepted his call to the gospel ministry at the St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Florida under the pastorate of Elder Dr. Ernest Ferrell. Pastor McMiller was called to pastor the Nazareth Primitive Baptist Church in March of 2002, where he has faithfully served for 18 years. On December 20, 2019, Pastor McMiller was called as Pastor-elect to the New Rising Star Primitive Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama to serve as the second pastor in the church’s history. In addition to having served this national organization as a pastor, it is of interest to note that General Secretary McMiller has served as a member of the Presbytery of the Southwestern District Primitive Baptist Association, Vice Chairperson to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina/Virginia State Primitive Baptist Convention, and Assistant Recording Secretary of the National Primitive Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. Elder McMiller is the former Moderator of the Southwestern District Primitive Baptist Association in Charlotte, NC.
